81st EAGE Conference & Exhibition 2019 Student Programme
The EAGE Community Hub Brings the Community Together
After a very successful Copenhagen, the popular EAGE Community Hub will once again be the one-stop-shop for all things EAGE in London. The EAGE Community Hub was introduced in 2018 as the new look and feel EAGE Pavilion, and it also incorporated the EAGE Bookshop, Career Advice Centre, and Student Area into a single location in the exhibition.
EAGE’s special interest groups Women in Geoscience and Engineering and Young Professionals were also represented in the Community Hub, with presentations from a range of industry professionals and leaders. The EAGE Community Hub will also host Meet & Greet sessions for the special interest communities – a great chance to meet new friends, network and share knowledge.
The Community Hub is the best place to meet with EAGE staff, ask questions about the Annual and the range of membership services that EAGE provides, and purchase the latest geoscience publications. Each year, EAGE also brings along a range of discounted books, meaning delegates can fill their conference bags with books and other goodies.
Also featured in the Community Hub area is the Student Zone which organizes and hosts a very full student programme including the Laurie Dake Challenge, the Travel Grant Hunt, motivational speeches, the Geo-Quiz and more. At the Copenhagen event, the popular Geo-Quiz was a major highlight with a large crowd amassing for a fun afternoon of quizzing, networking and a chance to win great prizes.
The Community Hub also hosted a gathering for Associated Societies to meet and engage with delegates from around the world, and regional staff from our EAGE offices in the Middle East, Russia, Asia Pacific, and Latin America were available to answer questions about the range of events that EAGE offers across the world. The EAGE Community Hub brings the geoscience community together and we are planning on making it even more exciting in London 2019.
