Executive Session I

Integration of Disciplines for a More Efficient E&P Industry

Wednesday, 13 June 2018, 08:30 - 11:00 hrs, Auditorium 15

Open to all registered attendees.

This session will be discussing the potential for improved efficiency by working and operating in a more integrated fashion.  The integration topic will be illuminated from two distinct angles. Firstly, the benefits and challenges of moving from vertical-silos build around discipline and operational specialization to integrated platforms and workflows will be discussed. The panel members will share their respective experiences and debate if the desired benefit of better operational performances and lower costs can be truly realized. The panel will also discuss the need for cultural change and transformations to accommodate the desired integrated working and explore if such changes to the way operational activities are organized might help to mitigate predicted skill shortages. Secondly, the discussion will turn to new models for collaboration between E&P and service companies, elaborating on new ways of working together and the benefit such closer collaboration could have. The panel will discuss if the need for rapid development of new technologies to address ever more complex exploration challenges will result in a collaborative and coordinated working between E&P companies and suppliers and how the evolution in digitization and big data analytics might affect the desire more integrated working.
