Fourth EAGE Borehole Geophysics Workshop
EAGE is delighted to welcome Dr Scott Leaney as keynote speaker for this workshop.
His knowledge and experience in this field will be shared with the participants over the three workshop days. Dr Scott Leaney (Global Geophysics Advisor, Schlumberger) has PhD and MSc degrees from the University of British Columbia and a BSc from the University of Manitoba. He joined Schlumberger in 1988 in France, developing software for 3C VSP processing and AVO modelling. From 1993-1997 he was Southeast Asia Area Geophysicist for Wireline Operations based in Indonesia; from 1998-2002 he acted as manager of a group called ‘InterSeis’ dedicated to developing integrated seismic processing for WesternGeco, based in Gatwick, England. In 2003 Scott moved to Houston for 3DVSP processing and micro-seismic R&D. These days he splits his time between borehole data integration for unconventionals and research, focusing on ray trace modelling and inversion in anisotropic media. He has 50+ publications in journals and conference proceedings, and seven sole inventor patents. He was awarded SEG Best Student Paper in 1986, was an EAGE Distinguished Lecturer nominee in 1999 and received the Best Presentation at Geoconvention/CSEG 2015.
