Dear colleagues:

On behalf of the Asociación Mexicana de Geólogos Petroleros (AMGP), Asociación Mexicana de Geofísicos de Exploración (AMGE) y European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE), we warmly welcome you to the First Latin American Seminar on Non-Conventional Resources.

This event has been jointly organized by Associations related to Earth Sciences, in order to show different themes regarding the exploration and exploitation of unconventional resources (oil and gas shales).

From 2010 to 2013, Pemex worked on the evaluation of these plays, drilling around 20 wells and carrying out several studies, which has quantified a potential of ~ 60 mmmbpce of recoverable resource, stopping the activity later, so that now the regulation has been approved, the necessary conditions are being generated in order oil and gas shale reservoirs can be exploited.

In this forum, you will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about technologies applied to this type of plays in the world's basins and Mexico, combined with an excellent technical program consisting of a total of 40 lectures, with topics focused on identifying and characterizing areas with greater economic potential in non-conventional plays; 3 keynote addresses, in which authorities and regulators will address the challenges and expectations to explore and produce in a sustainable way; ending with a roundtable, which will present opinions about the future of non-conventional resources.

Given the current conditions of the industry, it is important to enhance the technical knowledge, which will allow to produce these resources in the short term in a sustainable way and in harmony with the environment.
